The Vatican owns 20 apartments within the same block that houses Europe’s biggest gay sauna, it has emerged.
The Holy See spent £ 21 million on the Rome real estate in 2008 for the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples – a key department responsible for missionary activities, The Independent revealed [in its must read report].
It is headed by [homophobic] Cardinal Ivan Dias, who will take part in Tuesday’s papal conclave, and who enjoys a 12-room apartment on the first floor of the palazzo “just yards from the entrance to the steamy flesh pot.”
Facilities at the said “flesh pot”, aka Europa Multiclub, include a Turkish bath, whirlpools, massages and a Finnish sauna.
Customers are invited to “unleash between bears, teddy bears and hunters” at weekly parties.
The irony of the club’s proximity to the holy apartments is openly referenced by bear party host Bruno, “a hairy, overweight pastor of souls, is free to the music of his clergymen, remaining in a thong because he wants to expose body and soul.”
According to the BBC, the Vatican has declined to comment on the matter. It points out however Cardinal Dias has previously said that gays and lesbians can be cured of their “unnatural tendencies” through the “sacrament of penance”.
Cardinal Ivan Dias inhabits a 12-room apartment on the first floor of the palazzo yards from the entrance to the gay sauna. The revelations come amid reports Pope Benedict XVI’s decision to resign was influenced by the discovery of a gay “network” in the Vatican that led to some clergymen being blackmailed by outsiders.
The claims were made last month in Italy’s La Repubblica newspaper, which says the network was described in a 300 page report presented to the Pope by three cardinals assigned to investigate the “Vatileaks” scandal of 2012.

Indian Cardinal Ivan Dias’s aggressive homophobic statements should be taken with a grain of salt. Catholic priests are known to make anti-gay statements to cover up their homophile proclivities and activities.
The Catholic Church is a misogynistic, homosexual institution that is also engaged in money laundering (HSBC in London has asked the Vatican and its UK embassy in Wimbledon to take their accounts to another bank as they are not trustworthy clients). It is only a little more than a hundred years ago that the pope collected a tax from the prostitutes and rent boys who operated in St. Peter’s Square.
We know from Fr. K.B. Shibu‘s book Here is the Heart of a Priest that homosexual relationships are rampant within Indian Catholic seminaries and that they are also caste-based, i.e. lower caste seminarians are forced to supply sexual services to upper caste seminarians.

The scandals may be coming thick and strong from the Vatican at the moment, but the Church has always waged a losing battle with its own vice-ridden staff. The problem was that transgressions from official policy often began at the top. Fellow priests put one of the first popes, Sixtus III (432-40), on trial for seducing a nun. He was acquitted after quoting from Christ in his defense: “Let you who are without sin cast the first stone.” In the centuries to follow, political skullduggery and a corrupt election process thrust one improbable candidate after another into the position as god-fearing believers looked on in impotent horror. In fact, so many Vicars of Christ have been denounced as the “Worst Pope Ever” that we have to settle for a Top Ten list.
1. Sergius III (904-11), known by his cardinals as “the slave of every vice,” came to power after murdering his predecessor. He had a son with his teenage mistress — the prostitute Marozia, 30 years his junior — and their illegitimate son grew up to become the next pope. With top Vatican jobs auctioned off like baubles, the papacy entered its “dark century.”
2. The 16-year-old John XII (955-64) was accused of sleeping with his two sisters and inventing a catalog of disgusting new sins. Described by a church historian as “the very dregs,” he was killed at age 27 when the husband of one of his mistresses burst into his bedroom, discovered him in flagrante, and battered his skull in with a hammer.
3. Benedict IX, (1032-48) continually shocked even his most hardened cardinals by debauching young boys in the Lateran Palace. Repenting of his sins, he actually abdicated to a monastery, only to change his mind and seize office again. He was “a wretch who feasted on immorality,” wrote Saint Peter Damian, “a demon from hell in the disguise of a priest.”
4. After massacring the entire population in the Italian town of Palestrina, Boniface VIII (1294-1303) indulged in ménages with a married woman and her daughter and became renowned through Rome as a shameless pedophile. He famously declared that having sex with young boys was no more a sin than rubbing one hand against the other — which should make him the patron saint of Boston priests today. The poet Dante reserved a place for him in the eighth circle of Hell.
5. All pretense at decorum was abandoned when the papacy moved to Avignon in southern France for 75 years. Bon vivant Clement VI (1342-52) was called “an ecclesiastical Dionysus” by the poet Petrarch for the number of mistresses and the severity of his gonorrhea. Upon his death, 50 priests offered Mass for the repose of his soul for nine consecutive days, but French wits agreed that this was nowhere near enough.
6. Decamping back to Rome, the papacy hit its true low point in the Renaissance. (Church historian Eamon Duffy compares Rome to Nixon’s Washington, “a city of expense-account whores and political graft.”) Sixtus IV (1471-84), who funded the Sistine Chapel, had six illegitimate sons — one with his sister. He collected a Church tax on prostitutes and charged priests for keeping mistresses, but critics argued that this merely increased the prevalence of clerical homosexuality.
7. The rule of Innocent VIII (1484-92) is remembered as the Golden Age of Bastards: He acknowledged eight illegitimate sons and was known to have many more, although he found time between love affairs to start up the Inquisition. On his death bed, he ordered a comely wet nurse to supply him with milk fresh from the breast.
8. The vicious Rodrigo Borgia, who took the name Alexander VI (1492-1503), presided over more orgies than masses, wrote Edward Gibbon. A career highlight was the 1501 “Joust of the Whores,” when 50 dancers were invited to slowly strip around the pope’s table. Alexander and his family gleefully threw chestnuts on the floor, forcing the women to grovel around their feet like swine; they then offered prizes of fine clothes and jewelry for the man who could fornicate with the most women. Alexander’s other hobbies included watching horses copulate, which would make him “laugh fit to bust.” After his death — quite possibly poisoned by his pathological son, Cesar Borgia — this pope’s body was expelled from the basilica of Saint Peter as too evil to be buried in sacred soil.
9. Julius II (1503-13) is remembered for commissioning Michelangelo to paint the Sistene Chapel’s ceiling. He was also the first pope to contract “the French disease,” syphilis, from Rome’s male prostitutes. On Good Friday of 1508, he was unable to allow his foot to be kissed by the faithful as it was completely covered with syphilitic sores.
10. Incurable romantic Julius III (1550-55) fell in love with a handsome young beggar boy he spotted brawling with a vendor’s monkey in the streets. The pope went on to appoint this illiterate 17-year-old urchin a cardinal, inspiring an epic poem, “In Praise of Sodomy,” probably written by a disgruntled archbishop in his honor. • 11 May 2010

The Apology of John Paul II

In a bit more than a fortnight Pope John Paul II will make a request for forgiveness for the conduct of his church over the centuries. The infirm pontiff has prepared a list of the murders, tortures and horrors the papacy has caused to humanity. It reportedly takes 50 pages to lay it all out–things like the papal pogroms against the Jews, the crusades against Islam, and the Inquisitions that went on for centuries. Will 50 pages be enough?
Not if he tells it all. He knows his church historically engaged in political assassinations and other monkeyshines to impose the will of the Vatican upon the civil governments of the world. Will he mention that, even while families hold up pictures of desaparecidos, their kin, who disappeared in countries run by Catholic bishops and generals, like Argentina, Chili, and Croatia? Will he mention Rwanda? Will he say he’s sorry Pius XII said nothing while million of Jews were taken to their deaths? Will he mention Monsignor Tiso, head of the Slovak State, who delivered the first trainload of Jews to Auschwitz? How about the Catholic Ustashi of Croatia who carried out the “quiet holocaust” of Jews and Serbs? I doubt it.
How about women who had priests inspect their naked bodies, claiming to be looking for “witches marks” so they could light them on fire, in a sacred celebration during the Middle Ages called auto de Fe (act of faith)? Will he admit to hundreds of thousands of victims in this category alone, or will he avoid numbers?
And then there are other matters, like the mad monks led by Saint Cyril, the patron saint of arsonists, who burned the Great Library at Alexandria, destroying 600,000 volumes of knowledge of the ancient world–the greatest property crime of all time. Surely he should mention that, but he probably won’t. Then there was that dust-up with Luther and the wars that followed wherein Germany lost half its population in a generation. And of course the slave trade-shall he admit that his church was an instigator and a major player in that institution? And the destruction, plunder, rape and papal pillage of the peoples of the Americas and the eradication of their culture-will he go into all that? Will he say he’s sorry that some of his predecessors tried to kill every Protestant in France when they were called Huguenots?
Will he admit the “Donation of Constantine” was a forgery, and thereby acknowledge that his predecessor, Adrian IV, the only English pope, really didn’t own Ireland and therefore had no right to give it to England? Will he admit that forging documents has been a Vatican tradition for centuries, even during John Paul’s lifetime, when favored Nazis had Holy See passports to escape Europe and their crimes?
And finally what about all the boys who were castrated to make them into church singers, shouldn’t he apologize for that also? What will he say to the children who have had their bodies raped and their trust stolen when the priests of his church molested them? Will he ask forgiveness for the bishops who knew, and re-enabled the priestly perverts by moving them about, giving them access to more and more children? If so, will it be a real apology or some whiny, wishy-washy non-apology, like he gave before he came to Denver. Will he now apologize for insulting the American victims and the American people with that crass, so called apology of seven years ago when he implied we were so bad we had corrupted his priests?
No one expects him to apologize to the Third World, which has been kept in hunger, in major part, due to the Vatican’s ideas on birth control. Women may not expect an apology either, as he is convinced they have no right to control their own bodies. Don’t even ask about the gays and lesbians.
I think the question must be asked: could a church devoted to deviltry have beaten the record of harm and horror established by this one, which claims it was selected by the Lord to run the world until his return? Could Judas and a long line of betrayers have done worse than Peter and the popes?
THE POPE APOLOGISES – NOT
Well, the pope finally came out with a bunch of prayers shrouded in a made-up religious ceremony – which can be found here. It’s a sort of wishy-washy prayer session that addresses nothing. No apology for anything really. Was the planet dissapointed? I ‘spect so. I was. Didn’t even mention contraception. Bah.
